Begin with the intended movement, coverage and support direction. A studio bra and a running bra may need different constructions. References help establish the brief, but support claims should be based on an agreed evaluation process for the finished product.
Develop the components as one garment.
Cup shape, lining or power mesh, underband tension, strap placement and closure choices influence the finished fit. More layers are not automatically a better solution. We review the interaction between pattern, material and construction before refining the sample. Removable-pad and built-in-cup directions can be discussed within the project scope.
Fit is reviewed physically.
The development process includes pattern and sample review, recording changes agreed for the next version. Discuss the intended size range and how fit will be assessed early. One sample size does not establish performance across every body or activity; the review plan should reflect how the product will be sold.
Carry approved decisions into production.
Record the approved materials, construction details and measurements in the production reference. Pre-production approval helps align development and manufacturing. If specific laboratory testing is required, agree its scope and budget before making a corresponding performance claim.
